Caregiver Champion lunch and learn series explore how working caregivers and their families can sort through the complex changes and challenges of the aging process and help navigate the bureaucratic health care system.

This series includes:

Dealing with Stress and Guilt. Working caregivers have little time for themselves, as they multi-task between work and caring for their own family and their parent or loved one. This session focuses on how to overcome the symptoms of stress and guilt, Including developing work-life balance techniques.

Financial and Legal Aspects of Caregiving. Planning for seniors can be divided into several categories: Pre-Retirement Planning, Financial Planning, and Health Care Planning. This session provides insight into the costs of services and available resources, including important documents that you should be gathering and saving.

Navigating the Bureaucratic Maze of Health Care. This session discusses the differences between Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and insurance coverage and the differences in the continuum of services and how they are paid for.

What to look for in choosing a Nursing Home or Personal Care Home. Choosing a facility can be overwhelming especially when a family member is due to be discharged from the hospital the following day. This session gives pointers on what to look for and how to choose a facility for their loved one.
