My wife’s 97 year old mother lives in a nursing home. She would visit her mother everyday, and now she hasn’t seen her in over a month.
The staff has been terrific with providing care and caring for the residents and their families. They answer my wife’s nightly calls and let her know how her mother is doing, and they’ve instituted weekly Skype calls so my wife and her mother can talk and see each other.
May God bless all the doctors, nurses, aides, therapists, and support staff that work in hospitals, nursing or personal care homes. As a hospital administrator and licensed nursing home administrator, I can appreciate what everyone has to go through in a time of crisis. They deserve all the praise and gratitude we can give them.
I’ve spent this past month creating videos: Staying in touch with a loved one in a nursing home; How to effectively prevent infection through handwashing and social distancing; Cleaning your packages, mail and groceries utilizing gloves and disinfectant; and finally, How to keep things normal in abnormal times.
